why relationships fail

Human beings are social creatures. Our relationships play a key part in whether we feel fulfilled or dissatisfied with life. Many entrepreneurs let their relationships, specifically, their romantic relationships, take a back seat to growing their business. Let’s look at the top three reasons why relationships fail.

Reason 1: You go Into Relationships Looking to Get Something

If you’re looking for a relationship because you’re looking to fill some sort of void, it is destined to fail. How can you love someone else if you don’t first love yourself?

This relationship may work in the short-term, but your partner will eventually get sick of giving without getting anything in return.

Instead, you want to look for a relationship when you feel personally fulfilled in all other aspects of your life. When you love yourself, you want to share that love with another person, and that makes a relationship flourish.

Reason 2: You are not Being Present

This is especially true for men but applies to the busy female entrepreneurs as well. Most people think being physically present is enough to maintain a healthy relationship. They spend time with their partner, but their attention is buried in their phone or laptop.

In order to have a thriving relationship, you need to be mentally present 100 percent of the time you are physically with your significant other.

Reason 3: You Don’t Focus on Relationship Growth

If you aren’t growing, you’re dying. This is one of the laws of the universe. If your relationship isn’t growing, it is dying. Couples who have been married a long time are especially susceptible.

To avoid this mistake, focus on communication. Be open and honest with your partner. Ask them what you can do to make the relationship better.

When I asked my wife this question, she said she wanted some “me” time where she was free from the kids. Now, one day a week, she gets her time to herself, and the kids get some daddy time. Everyone wins.

Are you a busy entrepreneur who has been slacking on their relationship with their significant other? Schedule a life coaching session with Arman to get back in your partner’s good graces.
