Traditional “push” marketing is all but dead. If you want leads to come to you, you need to establish yourself as the go-to expert in your industry. You want to be the person other people in your industry turn to when they need answers. Let’s talk about how you become this go-to expert.
How to Establish Yourself as an Expert in Your Industry
Shift your focus from selling to educating. You want to provide leads with quality information that answers their questions while also moving them along the customer journey. By educating your leads instead of selling to them, you earn their trust. If your information is quality, they’ll assume the product or service you offer is quality as well.
Educating people involves constantly educating yourself. Google is your best friend when it comes to keeping yourself educated.
I’m nobody special, but I am known as an expert in my industry. How did I achieve this?
One thing I did is write articles. A lot of people go a step further and write books to establish their expertise. I can hear some of you saying “ But Arman, I’m not a writer. I can’t think of anything to write about.”
Writing is easier than you think. Research the common questions customers in your niche are asking. What information do they want to know before they decide to buy? Once you have your topic, write a numbered-list article using this template:
“ # ( Keys/Tips/Strategies) + (Something About Your Industry)
Articles that ease your reader’s pain and solves their problems will perform the best. Now, you may not feel like an expert, but you do have some expertise. Trust your experience and intellect.
The Stadium Pitch Exercise
Today I want you to work on your stadium pitch, which is a concept I learned from Chett Holmes.
Imagine you have a stadium filled with your ideal clients. They want to hear what you have to say, but they have been listening to presentations all day. Everyone in the stadium is starving. To compound the situation, a free buffet is announced over the PA just before you hit the stage. What are you going to say to keep people in their seats?
A business coach can help you craft an irresistible stadium pitch. Schedule a session with Titanium Success to create a stadium pitch that will have leads salivating.
